Catalogue Note
"Boyd's work, even at its most melancholic, has always had an innocence about it, which is very strongly present in the childhood series, where groups dance in the heather, where a child converses in the desert with an angel, where children play on the seashore and dream in a garden...Boyd unites the myth of Europa and the Wanderer King with the life of the Australian aborigines, making a series of ikons [sic] of tremendous power."
