Catalogue Note
"Tex and Jinx" was a radio show in the late 1940s credited as one of the early experiments in modern talk radio. Jinx Falkenberg, an actress and pin-up model in the 1940s, and her husband journalist Tex McCrary, hosted the interview based program through the late 1940s, which was later developed into a daily television program. The present lot was commissioned from James Mont by NBC Studios as the desk used by Tex and Jinx during their radio program. The inset cork top was selected for its acoustic qualities.
