Catalogue Note
Approximately fifty "Drop" chairs were executed in leather for use as bar seating in the Snack Bar of the SAS Hotel. Upon renovation of the hotel, these chairs were discarded and approximately thirty examples were salvaged by hotel employees.

The following four lots by Arne Jacobsen were each incorporated in the interior scheme of Jacobsen's groundbreaking Scandinavian Airline System's Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Jacobsen served as both the architect and designer of the complete interior on this historic project. The "Drop" chair was specifically designed for use as seating in the Snack Bar adjacent to the lobby. Modified versions of the "Egg" chair appeared in the lobby and the "Swan" chair model was included in the "Panorama" room on the 21st floor, which functioned as a public area to enjoy the views of the city below.
