Description

  • diameters: 5.9, 3.1, 5cm; 2 3/8 , 1 1/4 , 2in.
circular, the first 'Cymric,' Liberty & Co Ltd, Birmingham, 1904, the detachable lid with raised stylised foliage against a peacock blue enamel ground, gilt interior, struck 'CYMRIC' and stamped 680A, ink inventory number '435'; the second Bell & Willmott, London, 1902, the domed hinged lid decorated with translucent emerald green enamel over a bright-cut field, applied in gold with the cipher of Queen Alexandra, ink inventory number '146' and further inscribed in ink 'Pr. Olga'; the third Thomas Eady & Co Ltd, London, 1906, with bold ribbon-tied reeded borders, the hinged lid enamelled in translucent yellow over engine-turning and set with a moonstone, gilt interior, Patent Office Design Registry number 477154, ink inventory 'No. 233' and contains a handwritten note in ink: 'For darling Aunt Thyra/ frm yr. Loving niece / Louise. / a tiny box / with my love & I love yr. delicious / box / Xmas 1906.'

Condition

First (Cymric): Good condition with minor surface scratches consistent with age. Second (cipher): Excellent condition. Third (yellow): Excellent condition.
