Description

  • width: 7.2cm, 3 7/8 in.
oval, engraved and bright-cut in late 18th Century style with laurel festoons and oval cartouches, the hinged cover set with an 1864 2 rigsdaler piece, gilt interior, the underside set with a mirror, the detachable base also with gilt interior

Condition

Excellent condition and a most interesting object. The base of the inner box may have been intended for a hidden (perhaps erotic) photograph, but the mirror seems original. Very minor surface scratches to base.
