Description

  • 12cm. high, 28cm. wide, 19.5cm. deep; 4¾in., 11in., 7¾in.
of rectangular form, the top with a recessed panel depicting a recumbent stag beneath a palm tree, the front and sides with further panels with rampant lions, the whole applied with wrought iron straps cast with flowerheads and quatrefoil motifs, the underside with a paper label Gewerbe Museum Zurich NO. 2348, in red ink: K.G.M.Z 2348

Condition

Some black staining to the top and there is a small hairline crack to the top left hand-side. Some old minor worm damage. In overall good condition. Unusual box. Lovely animal motif details.
