the rectangular top with four recessed panels, the front centred by two panels with roundels enclosing a stylised flowerhead with tracery flanked by a linenfold panel, the sides with two recessed panels, on stile feet
Condition
Old minor chips, scratches and insect damage commensurate with age. There is a triangular restoration to the rear right front and left hand corner of the top. This is well executed and hardly noticeable. There are a couple of patches to top where there was previously a lockplate. There has been some shrinkage in the front panels but this is quite normal with age. There is also a patch on the front to the left of the keyhole, again where the lockplate has been replaced. There is a patch to the right hand hinge of the top inside and some restorations generally. The candlebox is now missing. The bracket on the left side of the front is a later replacement. There are some water stains to the top. In overall good, conserved condition. Attractive panel with unusual combination of linenfold and stylised leaf motif panels.
