Description

  • 17cm. high, 19cm. wide, 12.5cm. deep; 6¾in., 7½in., 5in.
the reverse with what appears to be the arms for Pacheco of Castile, of boarded sarcophagus form, the hinged lid with heraldic shields, the sides and front with conforming decoration, the back painted with four shaped motifs within shields, probably baskets, the iron lock plate with a scalloped edge, the interior decorated with stars on a blue ground

Condition

Attractive patination, despite losses. Fragmenting to the interior at the lock site. This is a very charming casket.
