Description

  • 63cm. high; 2ft. ¾in.
probably in the form of an angel, the robed figure with flowing locks and holding a shield centred by a quatreform foliate motif, this is an unrestored state

Condition

Very atmospheric. Distressed with extensive worm damage and losses. Possibly originally polychrome. The reverse of this piece has signs that it may have incorporated wings. Despite its condition and the fact that it was either a boss or a corbel this piece has a very sculptural feel.
