Description

  • diameters: the largest; 46cm.; 1ft. 6in., the smaller plates; 23cm.; 9in.
each rim with triple reeding, the larger charger by John Jackson, London the rim with stamped owners 'IB', the other charger Henry Wiggan, London the rim with shield centred by the stamped initials 'HW' and with an engraved scrolled cartouche surround, one smaller plate by Edward Leapidge, London the reverse of the plate stamped with ownership initials 'EW', another with illegible marks, possibly 'LT' and the reverse engraved 'AK' and the other small plate by John Tubb, London the rim engraved 'CICW' (5)

Condition

A very attractive group. The largest has an area of scratching to the centre. There are some recent scratches to the rim and there are some scratches to the reverse. The small plates are attractive. The centre of one plate has a 'pushed-in' appearance. The medium sized charger has many old surface cuts from heavy domestic use.
