Description
The cut-cornered rectangular case decorated with grey and white striped enamel, centring on a green, brown, blue and black enamel floral motif , framed by a border millegrain-set with rose-cut diamonds, opening to reveal a mirror, ivory writing plaque, two powder compartments and one lipstick compartment, to a pearl and grey enamel baton link suspension chain, two diamonds deficient, pencil deficient, measurements approximately 74mm x 47mm x 8mm, signed Boucheron Paris, French assay marks, later fitted case by BOUCHERON PARIS, 26 Place Vendome, New York, 1 East 57th Street, 180 New Bond Street, LONDON.
Condition
Several fine abrasions and scratches to the grey and white enamel decoration, several small chips to enamel baton links on suspension chain, mirror possibly later replacement, one diamond deficient from frame surrounding central motif and one diamond deficient from one catch, pencil deficient, fitted case later possibly from the 1960s and not original to the vanity case. Weight approximately 136 grams. In overall good condition.
