- A Karachopt Kazak rug
- approximately 172 by 128cm.; 5ft. 8in. by 4ft. 3in.
Condition
very pretty colour, much prettier than picture, light jade green in centre, very pretty red; browns oxidised, original end finishes, upper end blanket stitched, fringes trimmed to approx 0.5cm. at upper end, 20cm. square weak area in right hand border, with some staining (old damp patch?) hole and breaking and moth trail (this area possibly under a plant pot?); pile variable, generally 2-3mm with some fold wear in centre. Please note that there are areas of weak foundation and the rug has developed a hole approximately 10 cm in diameter whilst on view.
