Lined canvas. The surface is stable and in good condition, except for a dark and uneven varnish. Under UV light: a repaired vertical tear across the left shoulder with inpainting on the entire left upper arm; other repairs to the left of that shoulder, vertical inpainting along the left side of dagger; a larger area of retouching at center right. A number of smaller repairs and retouches scattered through background.
