depicting Alexander consoling the family of Darius, the elaborate trompe l'oeil architectural border with complex figural pilasters, surmounted by a coat of arms flanked by two putti, a reserve at the center of the bottom border inscribed: DMNA PALLADIS ARTE PICARAM SVPERAVIT ACVS, Brussels townmark at left of bottom selvage, weaver's mark of Reydams at lower right selvage.
Condition
Reduced, silks dry. Extensive open warps throughout and losses to warps throughout. Moth damage. Some patching and piecing. Needs cleaning and much attention. Lined.
