Description

carved in low-relief with three scholars drinking at a table, an attendant stands beside them serving from three vessels and a pitcher, all under the shade of a winding pine branch growing from a thick and knobby trunk, by a large craggy rock jutting out to the nearby stream, the water articulated by incised ripples, the vessel supported on low bracket feet, the bamboo a smoky-brown color with deep patina, Japanese wood box (2)

Condition

There are vertical carcks at the mouth rim and foot. Ink stains around the exterior and interior. In good overall condition.
