Catalogue Note

The Immortal Liu Hai is worshipped as a god of wealth and is often depicted with the three-legged toad. A Han dynasty historical figure, legend has it that he came upon a Daoist master who asked Liu Hai for ten eggs. The master subsequently stacked the eggs into the form of a pagoda with coins in between. The exchange with the Daoist enlightened Liu Hai and transported him into the Immortal world.
