Ioki Bunsai (Bun'ya) was a western style painter. He was born in Mito and worked in Tokyo under Takahashi Yuichi, Takahashi Genkich, Asai Chu and Koyama Shotaro. He was also known as a botanist, specializing in Alpine plants.
