Catalogue Note

When Prince Wu Lin asked Dai Andao to play his harp for him, Dai Andao refused and instead, broke the instrument by throwing it on the ground. Hou Mu, a notable poet, on a visit to the contryside, saw a group of people feasting under blossoming pear trees. A young man at the table failed to recognize him and asked Hou Mu to join them on the condition that he write a poem. Hou Mu then wrote his famous verses.
