Description

decorated in gold, silver and iro-e hiramaki-e, pottery, and ivory, mother-of-pearl, coral, malachite and metal inlays, with elaborate single and paired roundels depicting popular motifs including Rosei's dream, Shoki, flower carts, hanging kimono (tagasode), open poetry books, a group of New Year's toys, each roundel surrounded by a scrolling metal enclosure of copper, silver and brass, on a nashi-ji ground

Condition

The inlaid metal shaped ring inlays are in two sections and 3 ends were slightly lifting and now is pressed down. One was completely off but is now place back to the original position. The lid has some dust in places near the inlalid places but it should clean.
