decorated in gold, silver and iro-e hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, kirigane, hirame and kimpun, the exterior with swimming pairs of mandarin ducks, the symbol of marital fidelity, among rocky outcrops covered with young pine trees, under a gold foil sun partly obscured by clouds, the interior in nashi-ji, the rims in silver

Gold foil forming the sun has slight unevenness. The interior of the lower box has a slight crack to the upper edge.
