Description

of rectangular shape decorated in gold, silver, black takamaki-e, togidashi and kimpun, cinnabar lacquer (tsuishu), and malachite inlays, the cover depicting a two tied inro, one depicting Raiden in silver simulating metal inlay on a kin-ji ground, the other, a five-case inro simulating an inkcake, inscribed Taisei Kenchinzui, Taigai Naokazu kore boku, an ojime and a tsuishu seal-type lacquer netsuke of a standing lion (karashishi), the side inscribed Zeshin, on a natural wood ground (kiji-nuri) with prominent wood grain (mokume), the edges in gold, the interior and underside in scattered nashiji on a black lacquer (ro-iro)

Slight rubbing on the four corners of the lid (gold part) otherwise very good condition.
