depicting dwellings on plateaus in an extensive mountainous landscape, a grove of trees and water inlet in the foreground, with an inscription which may be translated:



In the Qianlong era, the gengyin year (corresponding to 1790), the fifth month.  [Painted] in the manner of Zejiu (Huang Gongwang).  Done for the pure enjoyment of the elder gentleman of the Su studio.  Younger brother Zuotian, Huang Yue, bearing two seals: Huangshi [?] yin, Zuojun.

Condition

a few horizontal creases to upper half, a few faint water stains along left side, repaired 3 by 1/2 inch tear to upper edge, 4 by 1/4 inch repaired tear to lower left side, a few scattered minor spots and faint stains
