Description

skilfully hollowed out in the form of a double-gourd and finely carved in high relief with the He He twins clambering atop the vessel raised on billowing cloud swirls, one holding a bouquet of lotus blooms and pads extending over his shoulder, while his companion carries a covered wicker basket, both dressed in long flowing robes and finely detailed with expressive faces displaying dimples and broad grins, the cover surmounted by a knop in the form of a curling tendril, the smoothly polished stone of a pure white tone with small honey-brown inclusions

Condition

There are two small bruises to the rim of the cover, the larger approx 0.4 by 0.2cm, and small nibbles to the edges of the rim. There are minute expected nibbles to the edges of the carving, but otherwise the present piece is in very good condition overall.
