Description
of deep form, the centre moulded with a flowering peony tree growing from rockwork, surrounded by combed motifs radiating towards the well with freely carved scrolling leafage before the deeply grooved everted rim, the underside plain, covered overall in a sea-green glaze
Provenance
A Private Japanese Collection.
Condition
The dish is in good condition overall, apart from a small flake as a result of a burst air bubble to the interior rim, approx 0.4 by 0.4cm, and light surface wear. There are three small glaze gaps on the interior well, and scattered ironspots to the underside. The glaze is slightly less yellow than the illustration suggests.
