modelled after the archaic jade 'cong' form, of square section with a short cylindrical neck, well moulded on the sides in relief with a pair of elephant-head handles suspending fixed rings, evenly covered overall with a rich, soft grey glaze, inscribed on the base with the six-character mark in underglaze-blue, the foot dressed in brown

Condition

The vase is in good condition overall. There are vertical characteristic golden-brown crackles running down the edges of the four corners of the vase with a couple of very minute glaze flakes. The corners appear to have been slightly polished. There is a crackle running around the elephant head handles. There is a firing line running around the base.
