Description

the compressed spherical body with a short neck and a broad everted gilt rim set with two 'U'-shaped loop handles, all supported on three sturdy feet, profusely decorated around the exterior in colourful enamels on a bright turquoise ground with symmetrical lotus and floral scrollwork, the collar and top of legs encircled by a ruyi-head band, the underside with an inset gilt bronze square incised with the four-character mark in a horizontal line above the character jin

Condition

This brightly and finely decorated censer is in very good overall condition with the exception of characteristic minor enamel shrinkage and pitting and light rubbing to the gilded decoration.
