Description

finely carved in high relief to the front face with a scaly dragon emerging from tumultuous foaming waves and swirling clouds in front of a large rising moon, the reverse with further cloud scrolls and breaking waves, the stone of pale celadon tone with caramel inclusions, wood stand

Condition

The jade carving is in good condition with the exception of two shallow chips (5 and 2mm., wide) to the ruyi cloud scrolls on the reverse and some possible polishing to the top right side of the front face. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly darker celadon tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
