Description

of compressed globular form set on three short conical legs, the short waisted neck and flared rim set with a pair of upright loop-handles, liberally decorated all over with thick irregular gold splashes, the base cast with an apocryphal two-character Xuande seal mark set within a recessed square

Provenance

From an old English collection. Acquired in London in the 1960s.

Condition

The censer is in good overall condition with the exception of a small nick to the rim.
