Description

of elongated baluster shape slightly tapering towards the flared foot, the waisted neck set with a pair of applied bamboo handles, liberally covered all over with irregular gold splashes, the base cast with the four-character mark xie gu zhai zhi 'made in the hall of regulating antiquity'

From a private European collection. Acquired in London in the 1960s.

Condition

This censer is generally in good condition, but does have some areas of dark staining to the patination to the sides.
