Description
the deep U-shaped cup repousse decorated to the exterior with high relief lotus borne on stylised scrolling tendrils, the interior fitted with a liner incised and gilt with a lanca medallion, the circular stand with a central raised lotus medallion enclosing a lanca character, and encircled by similar lotus and an incised chevron band at the flaring lipped rim, incised to the reverse of the rim with four characters Cang Guoyong zao
Condition
The stand is in good overall condition with the exception of three repaired splits to the rim, slight warping to the rim and light malachite encrustation to both the top and underside surface. The cup has repair to a circa 8cm., crescent-shaped break at the rim; the liner has a circa 4cm., wide crescent-shaped repaired section to the rim.
