Mercator, Gerard. Septentrionalium Terrarum descriptio. Amsterdam, [1606 or later]. Double-page engraved map (16 x 21 in.; 406 x 534 mm, sight), contemporary handcoloring; light marginal spotting and soiling, small hole in lower blank margin. Glazed and framed. The first map devoted to the North Pole, second state. Burden 88.
Blaeu, Willem & Jan. Regiones sub Polo Arctico. Amsterdam, [1645]. Engraved double-page map (17 3/4 x 22 in.; 450 x 560 mm), contemporary handcoloring; dampstain in lower right corner affecting image, small tear in lower margin entering printed frame. Second state, with dedication to Willem Backer de Corneliis. Burden 252.
Hondius, Henricus. Poli Arctici, et circumiacentium terrarum Descriptio Novissima. Amsterdam, [ca. 1676]. Double-page engraved map (17 1/2 x 20 in.; 445 x 508 mm, sight), contemporary handcoloring; somewhat browned. Matted, glazed and framed.
