Description
- A pair of lamps
- 75.5cm. high;
- 2ft 5¾in.
crystal glass beads, silver painted and chromed metal, celluloid lining, the fluted form above a baluster shaped stem on an octagonal stepped base
Condition
A striking and unusual pair of lamps. The celluloid lining with damages to the edges where the heat from the bulbs have distorted it, one less so, consistent with age. There are four bulbs to the top and an additional three in the centre of each stem. Not tested or guaranteed for electricity. Minor old marks and scratches to frames. Glass beads slightly dusty. The catalogue images shows the same lamp twice. One central mount to one of the four upper scrolls is lacking, as can be seen to the right scroll of the illustrated example. The facetted baluster shaped glass collar stem to one has a frosted interior, which suggests it has been replaced. These differences are not readily noticeable however and do not affect the excellent decorative impact of the pieces. Further images available upon request. A rare and impressive pair, ready for use and display.
