Description

- 255cm. wide by 49cm. deep;
- 8ft. 4 1/2 in, 1ft. 7 1/4 in.
onyx and marble, the base incorporating a carved vase and two spheres
Condition
A striking and unusual piece of good overall appearance. It is highly unusual to get a piece covered with onyx in this manner. Piece has been restored and touched-in in places, and has minor losses in areas, such as to where the scroll supports meet the central urn support. These have been caused by the piece having been glued together formerly, which has damaged the onyx when dismantled for transport. Some repairs visible in the illustration, such as to the base of the right hand scroll support. These repairs are not readily apparent and the impressive and elegant impact of the piece is strong. A high quality piece by an unknown designer.
