Catalogue Note
This model formed part of the furnishing for a dining room at an exhibition at the Wertheim department store in Berlin in 1902 (Austellung Für moderne Wohnungskunst). The geometrical lines and design elements of the sideboard, such as the rectangular panels, square handles and black insets, are motifs of Behrens' later work.
