Description

  • A 'Rhododendron' vase and shade
  • cameo mark to each piece, 'Gallé'
  • 47cm. high;
  • 18 1/2 in.
mould blown and wheel carved cameo glass, mounted as a lamp,  the red ground decorated in blue and purple with flowering branches

Condition

A piece of good overall appearance. Burst air bubbles and minor marks and scratches overall. The shade colour is of a more intense tone than the base. The cameo decoration of the shade with very minor edge chips. Please note that the rhododendron flowers have intaglio carving to the interior thus hightening the contrast with the leaves, when the piece is lit. Base overall in good condition, with one small area of 1cm. or less of black paint, possibly to cover a minor chip. Not tested or guaranteed for electricity. One original screw to metal arm missing. An impressive piece.
