the front inscribed around +avez tout mon coer a vre plaisir in black letter alternating with bead work decoration, the back decorated with sprigs of flowers and foliage
Provenance
Found at Swallowfield, Berkshire in 1972
Condition
In overall very good condition. The brooch has been over-enthiusiastically cleaned. However, there are traces of black enamelling in the engraved design on the back. As it is impossible to confirm that it was buried with intent of recovery, the British Museum deemed it a casual loss and not to be considered treasure.
