Catalogue Note

This weight, inscribed gamma, has been reused at a later date and is engraved with the bust of Christ. The ivory cross has terminals carved with demi figures of the evangelists. The larger gilt applique is repoussé with the Virgin and Child and the letters MP THY (mother of God); the smaller applique repousséed with the demi figure of an angel.
