Catalogue Note
Compare with two early fifteenth-century gilt copper cross terminals in the Cluny Museum, Paris, illustrated by Taburet-Delahaye. Note also the gilt copper with champlevé enamel plaque of Christ in the Cloisters illustrated by Wixom and dated to the last quarter of the fourteenth century. It follows depictions of the figure of Christ in his tomb found in Florentine painting of the period.
