Description

  • Two champleve enamel corpora and a gilt copper applique

Condition

Corpus left on the photograph: Both hands have been replaced. There are losses to the enamel on the perizonium. Wear to the gilding. The centre of Christ's breast is mounted with a glass bead and there is evidence of corrosion around the mount. Head fractured at the neck but not loose. Fine split under left arm which would probably have occurred when the corpus was ripped from its wooden cross. Corpus right on the photograph: Arms replaced at an raely date, traces of gilding. The applique: Some losse to the gilding, glass bead eyes still present but left one damaged, evidence of corrosion to the face.
