Condition

The board is in good condition. There is scattered retouching visible under ultraviolet light, mainly to the darker areas of the soldier and horse, partially obscured under a varnish. Apart from some scattered spots of paint loss and abrasion along the lower and right edges and to the upper left edge, and some fine scattered craquelure, it is in overall good condition. Held in a gold-painted, moulded plaster and wood frame with floral motifs.
