Literature
Exhib. cat. C.A. Lion Cachet 1864-1945, Assen/Rotterdam, 1994, colour plate II, Exhib. cat. Van Gogh to Mondrian, Rijksmuseum, 2000, no. 55, fig. 55 : "The large scale of the work was quite audacious. The flowers and plants in the foreground and background, which seem to be dominated by horror vacui, are stylised into a near-abstract pattern [...] the colours used -ochre, orange, green, blue and black- which appear to have been chosen primarily for their mutual impact, reinforce the air of exotism. Lion Cachet's experiments with Indonesian batik have influenced this print in the use of dots and whiter lines within the delineation of the house, the cloak and the head gear"
