Catalogue Note

first edition of nabokov's first printed work, most copies of which were destroyed by the censors. This short collection of verses was published privately before Nabokov's family left Russia in the wake of the 1917 Revolution; Nabokov had inherited a modest fortune in 1916, part of which he spent on this publication.
