Catalogue Note
Trebnik troikh is an important work in that it was the first Futurist anthology to contain exclusively poetry. It is printed using conventional typography, which was more to David Burliuk's taste than Mayakovsky's idiosyncratic productions. Mayakovsky uses compound rhyme for the first time, later to become his trademark in his works full of urban images and Cubist style. The verse from the Burliuk brothers is of exceptional quality.
