Fredrik Boije (c. 1773-c. 1857) was the controlling hand behind its publication, whose title changed to Magasin for konst, nyheter och moder from 1823. The subjects of the plates include fashionable costumes, caricatures, architectural and artistic reproductions, portraits, scenic vistas, musical notation, facsimile signatures, anthropomorphised animals, needlepoint exercises and surreal playing cards.
