Chancery folio (284 x 208mm.), 302 leaves (of 306, without blanks), double column, 46 lines plus headline, Gothic letter, 5- to 11-line initials supplied in blue with red penwork decoration, 2-line initials supplied in red and blue, some annotations in various hands, contemporary wooden boards rebacked (in 1958), without 4 blank leaves [a]1, [b]8 and [H]7-8, rubrics at end and misbound, occasional marginal staining, a few small wormholes, upper board cracked at upper corner, lacking both clasps and catches

two letters with seals bound at front, one dated 1790 and the other 1663; inscription at end of Fr. Leo de Francavilla dated 1475 (but later); bought by the present owner in Rome for £40 in 1957
