Catalogue Note
first edition of Pushkin's collected poems, most of which were originally published in journals. In 1820 Pushkin had used the manuscript as a stake for a game of cards, which he lost, but he managed to buy the manuscript back and revise it for publication. The edition of 1200 copies was sold out in two months.
