Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly warmer in the original work where there are lighter hues to the background and blues tones to the sky.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There is a small finger mark visible on the top edge, approximately 10cm along from the upper left corner. There are several faint rub marks to the surface: 3 in the upper left quadrant; and 1 just to the right of the figure’s right hand. Between the figure’s legs in the central composition there is a minute black speck of media adhering to the surface. All the aforementioned are unobtrusive and only visible upon close inspection. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals spots of restoration to the extreme left overturn edge, and minute areas that fluoresce in the red areas, which appear to be integral to the artist's method.
