Condition

This work is in good condition overall. The surface has yellowed slightly with age and there is evidence of soiling and wear particularly at the edges. The collage elements appear stable. There is an outline and nail holes along the left edge of the composition located approximately 10 1/2 in. from the bottom edge, presumably demarcating where a collage element had previously been adhered to the wood support. The surface irregularities are inherent to the industrial nature of the materials and the working method of the artist.
