Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is softer in the original, with the oranges in the brick wall tending more to lavender-pink and the red of ground more to brick-red. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the rich texture present in the original, in particular to the brick wall.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are a number of very fine unobtrusive cracks to the work's surface; in particular along the edges, as well as in a few scattered places elsewhere. There is a matrix of fine cracks to the green trees (only visible upon close inspection), which has resulted in some associated minute specks of media loss. There is some light wear to all four extreme corner tips.
No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
