Condition
Colours:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is softer in the original, with the yellow background tending more towards creamy white, the turquoise towards greyish green, the fuchsia towards lilac purple, the bright salmon pink towards rose pink and the yellows in the composition are brighter sunshine yellows.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are some faint stretcher marks parallel to the left, top and bottom edges. There is light wear to the bottom corners of the composition with associated minute specks of paint loss. There is a faint 40cm horizontal rub mark running along the central section of the bottom edge and a further faint 15cm horizontal rub mark approximately 10cm above the extreme left section of the bottom edge, both of which have some specks of paint loss associated to them which are only visible upon close inspection. There are several specks of coffee-coloured media accretion to the lower left quadrant and a small matrix of fine cracks to the centre left of the bottom black frame, 10cm above the extreme bottom edge. There are a few scattered minute media losses to the black pigment which are unobtrusive and only visible upon very close inspection. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
